T- Minus 15

Well, we have 15 days left till we hit the road for St Louis to meet Bob and Dorene Boardman. They are coming in from North Carolina and we will be a Caravan of two Motorhomes for this trip. Bob and I have had a lot of tours of duty together in the Marine Corps. That was a few years ago. Am looking forward to this trip with Bob and Dorene.

The knee is coming along pretty good, I go to physical Therapy 5 days a week in an effort to get it back to as close to normal as I can for the trip. I am sure I will still have some therapy I have to do myself on the trip, but that's OK. I May have to cancel the mountain climbing on Mt. Mckinely though..

Installed two new tires to the front of the motorhome. All the tires appeard to be good, but felt that two new ones on the front would give me a "Warm Fuzzy" for the trip. Ken helped me remove the tires and we loaded them in his truck and took them up town to have the new tires mounted, then came back and Ken re-installed them on the Motorhome. Don't know what I would do without his help these days. I'll never be able to repay him. He'll be looking after the house here while we are gone also. He's not only my friend, but my neighbor too. Great combination.

Well, see ya later. Time is flying by....

First Day

04/20/2008. Just set up the Blog for our trip. We plan to depart on 9 May 2008 and head for St. Louis, MO to meet Bob and Dorene Boardman there, and his sister. Will stay there for a few days to see the area and visit with Bob's sister and Leave for places farther North on 17 May.
Have a lot of things to do to get ready for the trip. Hope I have enough time. Had my knee replaced on 21 April so I am moving a little slow now. Donnie replaced the Fan Belt on the Motorhome yesterday. That was bothering me as I couldn't crawl under there and do it myself. I thank him a lot for that. Have a few maintenance things to do on the rig, but think it is pretty much ready. Amy has been loading it for quite a while now. Just hope she don't overload it in weight. Have told her we cannot load it till it is full, as weight is the problem we have to watch, not quanity. Will write some till we get on the road, then I hope to add to the blog each day on our trip....
