Hi: We are now in St Mary's next to the Glacier National Park. We have been out of WiFi for a couple days, and having trouble with the Motor home.
We could not get our slides to come in while in Wyoming, so I called the Workhorse facility in Billings to get an appointment to check some things out. Well, got an appointmnet for the Wednesday after Memorial day, so we got to Billings on Tuesday and I checked in a campgeround about half a block form the garage. Checked it with them and got the Motor home there at 0800 on Wednesday. Had to have them check the slides, they fixed with a new diode, then they found short in the wiring for the blower motor, adjusted the ABS system (Didn't work, Light still came on before I got out of Billings). While checking the fan belt squeal he found the alternator bearing was shot, so had to have a new alternator, then noticed the exhaust pips were loose so he got new gaskets for them, then noticed that I had a bolt broken off for the exhause manifold, and it was leaking there, so he had to take that off and get new gasket for that, and drill out the broken bolt, then re-tap the threads for a new bolt. Well, he broke the tap off in the hole and didn't have a tap extractorl, so had to wait another day for him to get a extractor. It got there yesterday morning and he got things fixed and we got on the road at about 1400, less about $2100.00 for his labors and parts. Our insurance did pay be $543.00, so it would have been that much more had Inot had the insurance. Any way we got to Grand Rapids about 9 PM, and got up this morning and took off for here. We plan to stay here tomorrow and drive thru the National Park, then go on up the road to Canada and start the trip there.
I'ts been one heck of a few last days. Amy and I are still beat. Hope to get a rest place in Canada someplace. Someplace with WiFi I hope.

HI All: Well, we got up and had the Motor home at the garage at 0758 and I signed in. The took the coach in to the bay at about 0830 with Pharaoh locked in the bathroom on a pillow. We left for breakfast. They had our cell phone. Ate breakfast at Denney's. Very good, Then Amy asked the waitress where the mall was, and wonders of wonders, she knew, so off we went. It was so easy to find?? Spent a bunch of hours in there. I even had to buy a couple pair of smaller levi's. Seems the one's I have have stretched out a little. Then we found a WalMart for several more hours of walking around and leaving a bundle. Then we found a Barnes and Noble book store and looked around in there for a while. I found a book I liked and sat down and read till about 1500 and we left. Did buy the book. Got the the garage at about 1520 and they sent us to the area they are working on the Motor Home to talk to the man working on it. Found that he had fixed the slide out problem. It was a blown diode. (Found out where it is hid also). But the jack worked just fine for him from the first time he tried them. They did not work for me at the park this morning, nor did they work when I first got to the garage. So, don't know what is wrong there. They worked just fine here at the park when we returned here. Sure hope that gremlin is gone. The dash blower motor problem turned out to be a shorted wire under the dash, and a blown 30 amp fuse for the high speed part of the blower. That fuse in an in line fuse that you have to know is there. It's not located with all the other fuses in the fuse box. The squealing fan belt turned out to be my alternator, so they found one here in billings but couldn't get it installed today, so have to go back in the morning, and he'll install it. Shouldn't take more than an hour, as it is located at an easy place to get at. So we plan to get on the road as soon as we settle up with them at the garage and get to Great Falls, MT where Bob and Dorene are waiting. Sure will be glad to get back together and get on with the trip. I have an extended warranty for the Motor Home and it is supposed to cover some things. It does cover jack, slide outs and ins, and the alternator, but don't know how much. It it is like the generator problem we had a while back they only approved $500, and guess what my deductible is?? right, $500. Don't care, just want to get going..
Well, it must be 5 O'clock some where now.

27 May Later
Hi From Montana. WE got out of Wy at about 1130 this morning and headed for Billings, MT where I have the appointment in the morning to have the jacks and slides looked at.
Started getting ready to leave this morning, so got the book out to find out how to get the slides in without the aid of the pump. Had to dig out a come along something like the thing on a boat trailer that pulls the boat on the trailer. It hooks to the top step of the motorhome and has a strip with a hook that goes under the couch and hooks to the safety belts under there and you crank the slide in. Real simple??? Broke the first seat belt, then hooked to two more at one time that I found under there. I was only getting about a 1/4 inch at a crank, and looked like it was binding. The manager (Pete) came by and said he'd go out and push in as I crank. Well whatever he did I got about a foot in, then it was hard again. He went and found two BIG cowboys in their 4x4 muddy truck. They were about 6'3" each and 230# with boots, and cowboy hats. The made short work of the sliding of the slide. Almost pushed the motor home over.. Then had them help push in the bedroom slide, as it had no crank, just man power. Had to release pressure on the valves on each slide before we did the pushing. Any way, I left the crank hooked to the big slide so it wouldn't want to slide back out on the road and it didn't move. The bed room slide did move out about 2 inches, but we got here OK..
Got a nice paved campground with WiFi. First 12 hours free, $1.50 a day after that, and has 70 channel Cable. Real nice campground. Site is pretty level. Good thing. Now the jacks don't work either. They did before we left, but the gremlins got in it again. So nothing works now, which is probably best for trouble shooting in the morning.
The repair facility is less than a block on the same street we are on. Went down and checked where to bring the rig in the morning, so I'll be there at 0800. Not sure what we'll do with Pharaoh etc while they work on the rig, but we'll come up with something.
Well, it's time for me to give my troubles to the Lord (Lord Calvert Canadain Whiskey). heehee.
At least it isn't raining here now.

Morning all: Checked with the RV repair places here in Sheridan and none of them work on my kind of jacks, so I called the Workhorse garage in Billings and they can work on me, and can do it tomorrow. Sooooo. Plan to manually push in the slides this morning and leave here for a campground that is right behind the garage in Billings. Will stay the night with the slides in and take it in for repair tomorrow. At least the jacks work now. Hope they still work when we get there. Everything worked when we left Custer and when we got here nothing worked.
Bob and Dorene are still in Great Falls and were going to wait there till we got there if I couldn't find a place here or in Billings to get worked on. They are about 350 miles from here. Would be a long one day trip. Billings is about 100 miles north, so we will have 250 to get to Great Falls. Hopefully day after tomorrow IF they can fix the stuff without ordering parts etc. Amy says there is WiFi at the next campground so will be able to keep the Saga going...

Hi: Got up today and no wind or rain. Amy decided to do some laundry and got that done. I decided to check out the jack and slideout system, and cleaned all the connections on the solenoids. Loosened them from the pump motor and removed all the wires etc and used a wire brush to clean all contacts before the manager of the park caught me under the motorhome. Well, got things cleaned up and rehooked up and was attaching the solenoids to the pump motor when guess what?? RIGHT. It started raining again, so I came out from under the motor home. I don't work in the rain any more. Sure was hoping that cleaning the contacts and wire connections would give me a system that works. Will have to wait a while. Like Hank Williams said, "I don't go fishing in the Rain" or do much else these days. These metal joints seem to soak up the cold rain, and believe me, the rain here is cold. It's 1300 and the outside temp is 50 and falling.
Hope I can find someone else to check this rig out in the morning. If I don't, I'll have to stay until Thursday for the appointment I have in Billings, MT. About 125 miles north of us. It is on our way though.
Well, wish us luck.

Hi: Still in Sheridan, WY. At least the rain has stopped for a while. There are rain clouds still around all the mountains around us, and we can see snow on some of them the clouds let us see. The wind has picked up again. Reports said 8 MPH WNW winds. Well, I'm sure they are stonger than that, as they rock the motor home.
Amy and I went downtown today just to see what the town looked like. A beautiful OLD Western town, that is perfectly clean. Even found a Dairy Queen that was open and got in line of about 10 cars ordering stuff. It was a little after noon, so I guess church just let out and they were getting their dinner. We just got a cone apiece. Very good lunch.
Went to WalMart again. Amy picked up another little heater. She said there were only two heaters on the shelf, then realized that Summer is coming in now, and that was the reason there were few heaters, and lots of fans. A lady even made acomment at checkout that it seems like winter is coming back!!!!
Received a notice from Discover Card that they sent me a set of new cards with new numbers and I need to activate them. Wrote them back of our situation, and would not be able to get the new cards, and would like to keep the old ones. They wrote back that the old ones would run out in 45 days and would be no good after that. They would be glad to send me some emergency cards at a hotel or where ever we are. I gave them the address of this campground and told them we would be here till 27 May. After that I have to forwarding address, and if I don't get them by then they will loose lots of business during this trip. Have not heard from them yet. Most of the campgrounds will not take Discover Card, only Mastercard or Visa. Have a couple Mastercards, so we are OK. Mastercard will be happy with Discover Card. Did have to change a couple outfits that send their monthly bills to Discover, like AOL, and DirecTV. I changed them to Mastercard from now on. Discover was going to get most of the gasoline charges though. They will be the looser as far as I am concerned.
Also, could not get in to my bank account. I set it up so I could get my bank statement, rather than have someone send it to me, but I could not get in. I think it is because I never used this computer to get in there before we left, and the security won't recognize this computer. Sent them an email, but won't hear anything till after the holiday weekend.
Nothing new about the mechanical condition of the motor home. Don't want to mess with it while it is all level and the slides are out and not leaking. Once I let the jacks down I may not get them level again....Will do a little more checking on Tuesday to see if I can get in to the Workhorse place in Billings before Thursday.
Called Ken, who is picking up my mail and asked him to open my bank statement and scan it and send it to me. That will work well. That was the first plan, but found out I could get the statement on line. But that didn't work.
Well, guess it's time to read a book, or watch TV. Good 70 channel cable TV here, as well as good WiFi for the email.
Bob Boardman called last night, and he had rain all day yesterday. At times it was so bad he could hardly see. The first campground they had planned to stay at was a lake, so they had to find another. Found one, but no TV cable, not WiFi. They should be well on their way to Shelby today. Hope they have better weather. It shows it's still raining up there. Wish them well..

Hi: Still in Sheridan, WY. AND It's still raining. Rained most all night, but since we got the rig leveled out the slide out didn't leak, which is good as I can't get it back in without a lot of trouble.
We have decided to stay here thru the holiday weekend and then get to Billings, MT where they have facilities to fix the things I have going bad. Jack, and Slide out won't work, Dash blower won't work, Fan belt squeals, and ABS light comes on and off at different times. I need to get these things fixed before I go in to Canada. Talked Bob and Dorene in to going on to Shelby, MT where they can make a trip in to the Glacier National Park for sight seeing. WE have been there so it's not a big thing for us this time. We will get things fixed and meet them there and go on in to Canada from there.
Well, better get on the phone to see if I can find someplace that can fix us up next tuesday.

Hi: Well things are still not going that well with the Motor Home. Got Bob under the front to use a scew driver to jump the solenoid so I could level the coach, and it worked OK. Then checked the slides and now I cannot close the slide outs, but I could before we did the jump thing. WE can bring them in doing the same thing I suspect, but would hate to have to call Bob at 0300 when it is raining or snowing to help me bring in the slide out?? Just don't know what is wrong with that system. I have a phone number to call the company, but I will need to get in to the control box which is hidden under the dash, and be prepared to spend a long time on the phone with them to walk me thru whatever. May have to do that.??
I had a list of a few things I needed for the motor home today so went in town with the credit card all ready. First went to NAPA to get a new fuse for the dash blower circuit breaker. None to be found. NAPA guy called every place he could think of trying to find one. Could not find one. I did buy a circuit breaker I can install between the one I have now and the blower, so came back and checked the blower. Well, it is working just fine now. I sure hate it when things work some times and then not later.... I am missing my Beaver Motor home more and more...
We spent most of the day in the town of Sheridan. Amy and Dorene took our car and Bob and I took his, so they went to WalMart and we went all over the place. Even found a RV repair and parts place. They had nothing I needed. I need one of those hydrolic springs that hold the outer doors up, but cannot find the right one that I need. I find almost every length but the one I need. We found nothing of what we wanted this day,so we went to Perkins for lunch. Came home and loaded the car on the dolly, and getting ready to leave in the morning. IF I can get my jacks back up, and my slides in, and my fan belt hangs on, and my blower motor blows. I'm not having much fun these days....

Hi: We got off in good time this morning about 0900, and it was 40 degrees and raining. I think I saw some snow slush in there somewhere too.. Yuck. Stopped for gas and it is different here. Regular is 85 octane, and costs $3.85 a gallon. Plus is 88 octane and has 10% ethanol and it was $3.79. Cheaper??? Seemed to run fine in the Motorhome as we got up to 11.2 MPG on some of the flat/downhill runs here to Sheridan, WY. It rained all the way here and rained most of the night. We had no trouble with the jack and slide ins when we left Custer, But the Jacks would NOT go down here at this campground. The slides went out with no problem, so that narrows the problem down to one pirticulat selinoid, and I did find one in Custer that may work. So I know which one to change. (When it quits raining). Also got a new problem on the way here. The fan in the dash would not work, so had no heat or defrosters, and it was cold all the way here. Highest we saw was 45 degrees. Had the big heater going so that helped, but Amy had to keep wiping the windsheld to keep the condensation off it. I checked with the owner here about getting someone to look at my problem, and no one could see me before next Wednesday. I went to set up in my site and he said he'd keep looking for someone to help me. Well I checked one of the resetable fuses and found it was hot, so pulled it out and it cooled down and put it back and the fan started up. Went to tell the owner to stop looking for help. Plan to go to town today and get a couple new 30 amp resetable fuses, as these kind do get old and open at the wrong time after a while. Sure hope that fixes this problem as HEAT is needed in this part of the country. But with the fan not working I would not have AC either. Fan belt is still squealing. Don't know what that problem is yet either. Going to Billings, MT tomorrow, so might be able to find someone to check it out there. I have been under there with belt slip spray and it helps for a little while, but it startes to squeal again soon. Boy, If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have none at all.
The kitchen slide out went out just fine last night, but with all the rain we found a leak, so we had to close it up for the night. The bedroom slide showed no leaks. Thanks for little breaks..
Plan to stay here today and do some shopping. Seems this is the biggest little town around for some miles. Towns are few and far between here. It's supposed to rain off and on all day also. I did get my Alaska coat out yesterday and it felt good. We went by a thermometer in town yesterday coming here that said 35 degrees. I can't breath air below 40, so I had to hold my breath for a long time. Till we got the motor home warmed up.
As you all can see we do have WiFi here, and we also have cable TV, so didn't have to set up the satellite dish. Cost for the campground was about $30 a night. Seems that is the norm at most of them, however, we did notice at one KOA a while back their costs last year were $35 to $71. We are in the high side of course as we use all the hookups. Bob uses 50 amp, and Iuse only the 30 amp which is a couple dollars cheaper.
Well

Hi: We went on a trip in the Mountains today on a road called the "Animal Loop" The name is correct, as we saw hundreds of animals from Prarire Dogs, Antilope, and hundreds of Buffalo. "The say there are over 1500 in the area. I think we saw most of them. They were everywhere, even on the roads and we had to slow and stop to let them pass. Also some wild Burrows that came right up to your car begging for food. It appears that people have been feeding them for a long time. We stopped at a couple one time and they came up and stuck their heads inside the car wanting something to eat. We had nothing, but we would have given them something if we had. I now have Burrow Snot on my drivers side window on the car. A super trip. Made the extra day worth while.
I did get some rest on the knee. We also went to another resturaunt and I stuck to beef this time. Another Cowboy bar/eatery. It was good...
Plan to get up and leave in the morning, and the weather isn't supposed to be to good. Will stop in Wyoming some where....

Hi All: Had a good day today. Got up about 0700, had breakfast and I noticed that the vent in the kitchen was broken. Got up on the roof and found that a bracket had broken so I took it off and planned to go to a RV parts place we had seen on the road a day or so ago.
We left at around 1000 and stopped up the road to take some pictures of the Crazy Horse cutting in the mountain. I took my telephoto lens on my 35mm camera. Got some nice pictures. WE decided not to go up there and pay the $25.00 a car to look at it closer. There isn't much to see yet. His face is carved up there, and there are a few holes in the mountain. Think we got good enough photo's of it from the road here.
Then went to Mount Rushmore. Boy, they sure have made a difference in that area since we were here in the 60's or 70's. WE just drove up the road and pulled off to a little area and looked at the mountain. Now they have a 3 story parking garage, and since most folks have the "Golden Pass to parks that let them in free, they charge a "Consession Fee" to park of $10.00. Not bad I guess, someone has to pay for the fancy building work around there now. It was very nice and we got some nice photo's to share.
Then we went to the RV parts place and they really did have a replacement for my vent. They had a lot of them there. Most of them were around $10.00 each, but mine was $30.00 each. The guy there said to contact the people who make the vent and they may give me my money back. He said if someone came in with the rig, and he ordered a new cover for the vent they furnished it free. So I'll try to get some of it back.
We then went on a road trip thru the mountains around here. It was a fantastic trip. We were in Bob's convertable and even put the top down a while to be able to take pictures of the mountains that came right down to us on the road. Went thru several tunnels that were cut right thru solid stone. One of them we met a tour bus coming thru from the other way. It must have had no less than 2 inches clearance on each side and top coming thru there very slowly. He made it, but I think I noticed some scratches on the side??? The trip was the best.
We drove back to the campground and stopped for a while. Bob and Dorene went to Custer to get some photo's printed on CD's. Amy and I stayed here and rested. Talked Bob in to staying one more day so I can rest the knee one more day before we leave. Have been really working it out these last few days, and enjoying it though. So we are staying one more day. I think we are taking another road trip today down a road in the mountains we saw yesterday but didn't take it called "Animal Loop". Dorene said they have taken this trip before a long time ago and it was worth seeing. Then I'll rest the knee...
Not sure how far we will go down the road tomorrow. Well go till we find a campground I guess. There are not to many visitors out on the road yet. They are just opening up some of the things around here for the tourest season. Glad we are a little ahead of the crowd. WE have met a couple Motorhome folks that are also going to Alaska. Hope we can beat some of the crowd up there too, but don't want to get there to early as the Salmon won't be there yet, but the cold weather will still be there..
Well, one more day down and still having fun....

HI All. Amy made me a super breakfast this morning. BLT'S With real bacon. Wonder what I did that rated a breakfast that good.
After breakfast I started trouble shooting the leveling system. Also the power for the slide outs. Bob came out and we continued to trouble shoot with no sucess. Bob found the control box hidden behind a little wall under the dash. We then decided we may need someone who knows a little more than we do. We had narrowed it down to the selenoids on the pump motor, but couldn't prove it.. I asked at the desk if they knew of someone who came on site and worked on rigs. She did and called him. I talked to him and he said he'd be here in about 45 minutes. He got here on time and started doing all that Bob and I had done. He worked on it for about 2 hours and was under the rig and I was pushing buttons at his direction when suddenly it started working. I asked him what he did. He said "NOTHING" We went thru a few ups and downs and in and outs and it worked fine. He recommended that I try to find a couple new selenoids at a Auto Parts store and keep them in case I have trouble again, and that he thinks it is the selenoids. Same thing Bob and I came up with. Only difference is Bob didn't charge me $182.00 like the pro did??? Just hope I can find a selenoid. Have checked one place with no luck. WE do have the back up of Bob under there with a screw driver shorting out the selenoid while I push the buttons like we did when it first went down....
We did get out of here about 1300 and went to "Bear Country USA" It is a super place. You drive thru it and all the animals are loose in there and walk around free. They say to keep your windows up, and if you have a convertable Like Bob has, they won't let you in. It was a super day in there. One good part was I didn't have to walk. hee hee..
After the tour there we went back to Custer, SD and started looking for a restaurant for dinner, and found a grocery store also. We found a nice place to eat. I had a Buffalo sirloin steak. It was pretty good, but I got that out of my system. I'll stick to beef from now on...
Came back to the campground and hooked up the satellite dish. The Auto system doesn't work, and hasn't on the whole trip. Glad I brought a back up antenna. The local TV is real bad here too, so it is nice to have the Satellite working again...
Plan to do some more sight seeing tomorrow. Not shure if we'll stay another day yet or not. Didn't get any photo's on the computer yet to put on the Blog. Amy is down at the laundry now, so She want's to pick the photo's. Don't like my taste I guess...
Well, hope you all can see a little of our trip from this blog. WE are having a real good time, even when we do have a few problems with my rig.....

Hi: WE hit the road this morning early and went to Mitchell, SD to the "Corn House" there. They decorated it with corn each year. It was something to see. If it haden't been for Bob being from this area we would not have gone there. Glad we did. Got photo's.
Got back on the road and the wind was gone. Such a pleasure to drive on straight flat hi ways. Got up to 10.5 MPG out there, BUT, when we hit the Black Hills in Western South Dakota that changed. Went down to around 6.5 I think. We are now in the Crazy Horse Campground in Custer, SD. Real nice place, and close to a lot of things to see. We will stay here for 3 nights. I'm glad, as I need the rest.
Pulled in to our assigned site and put the parking brake on and hit the leveling switch and all I could hear is a seleniod clicking. No hydraulics at all. The pump would not pump, and the site I am in is not level so had to make things work. Bob got under the front where the pump is and jumped across the thing to make the pump work till I got it level and the slide outs set. Will check out the system tomorrow. Am now giving my troubles to the "Lord". (Lord Calvert) that is.
Trip is doing just fine with the exception of a few little clicks in the Motor home. But can fix them I'm sure.
Will write more tomorrow, and plan to try to include some photo's this time.

Well, we made it to Salem,SD. It was the roughest trip I have had in a Motorhome. The wind was out of our 2 oclock all the way about 20 to 30 MPH. I had to put it in a lower gear to go down hill. I think we averaged about 4 MPG on this trip. I had had up to 9.5 MPG on other trips, but today the wind tried to blow the Motorhome off the road, as well as slow you down going down hill. They say the wind will let up for tomorrow. I sure hope so. I hope I can get to the next gas station without running our of gass. This is the lowest I've let the tank get before I fill it up...
We plan a stop at Mitchell, SD where they have a corn house or some such thing. Bob was raised around this area in Rapid City, SD, so he knows some of the areas to stop and see. We plan a 2 or 3 day stay in the Rapid City area to check out Mt. Rushmore etc in that area. Lots to see there. Plan to get there tomorrow. We have to leave early in this morning, about 0830. That is early for us. Will stop in Mitchel, SD for some breakfast, then on to Rapid City to a campground they know of near Mt. Rushmore. Lot's to see around there.
Bob came over this evening and had a drink with us. It was real nice to jab with him again. Now it's 8:44, so we need to get some supper and get to bed. I sure get tired with all this driving??
Will have more about our things tomorrow.

Morning everyone: Had a good night here at the AOK Campground on the river. Dorene cooked a super supper of Chili, with water melon as desert. One of the best Chili's I've tasted.
I layed down after my shower and fell asleep, and stayed that way most of the night. Woke up at 0530 and made enough noise that Amy and Pharaoh were also awake.
Sitting here having a cup of coffee, and looking at the maps for our trip to continue today. Looks like we will get up to somewhere around Sioux Fall, SD. Around 300 more miles. Amy found a campground around Salem just beyond Sioux Falls on I-90. Need to check it with Bob and Dorene before we go..
Found that Bob's Motorhome can make it up hills much better than my rig. He led the way yesterday for a while and left me in his dust. His towed vehicle is smaller than ours, and his rig weighes a little less than ours. The trip had a lot of little hills yesterday which screw up my overdrive, and curise control. Also screws up the gas mileage.
Well, that's about it for now. Sorry for any mis-spelled words. This program does not correct spelling like the Email does. Hate that....I'm one of the worlds worst spellers, but I bet you'll be able to figure out what I am trying to say.

Hi All. We are in the AOK Campground in St. Joseph, MO. Drove a little over 300 miles from St. Louis. Left there about 1000. Had a nice visit with Bob's Sister Becky, and her husband Rex. They are staying one more night to do some more sight seeing and then heading back to Wisconsin. We really enjoyed our time with them.
We found this campground in the Good Sam Book and it's called AOK. Not KOA.. It is a small place back a gravel road, and DOWN off that road next to a river. They advertised they had WiFi and TV, but I guess they mean TV IF you have an antenna. All we needed was water and electricity and they have that. Next to the cheapest place we stayed at at $22.00 per night. Cheapest we have found so far is $20. I doubt we will get away with anything cheaper on this trip. Bob told Amy that she has us practicing for the campgrounds we will find in Canada or Alaska. At least there is no snow here. Just LOTS of dust, and dandy lions everywhere. Weather is nice. Sunny and clear and about 75 degrees. Have the A/C one even.
We plan to leave in the morning for places North again. Not sure how far we will get. Will let ya all know tomorrow.

Day 5
It's trying to rain on us here in St. Louis this morning, and supposed to rain more during the day.
We all went to the local Casino last night for dinner. Decided on a Hamburger place and Amy and I had a burger apiece. Kinda spendy, but good. $30.00 for our dinner.
Then we decided to try our luck at the slots. Set a one hour time limit in there. Amy and I didn't need that long to loose our set amount. I put my $7.00 in and it didn't even give me one quarter back to try to keep me interested. Amy was able to kill a little more time on her $10 before the machine decided to keep it all too. I think Dorene was the only winner there. Think she came out with $30 ahead.
It was a nice evening.
I did overdo a little on the walking in the zoo etc yesterday. My knee is pretty sore this morning Think I will beg out of any touring today. Amy and I need to find a grocery store, and maybe a Walmart.
Not sure when we leave yet. Tomorrow, or the next day. Time will tell.

Day 3 and 4
Didn't have WiFi at the last campground in Calvert City, Ky. So didn't get any info out. Not much to send. we just drove all day, The Motorhome ran super all day and I got 8.1 MPG on the fill up. Not bad I think.
We left Calvert City at about 0900 and got on the road for St. Louis. Weather was pretty good. Had a couple rain squals, and the wind had calmed down a lot.
Got here in St. Louis at about 1430 and Bob and Dorene were already here as well as his Sister Becky and Husband Rex. Becky cooked us a Wisconsin dinner of Bratwurst, Macaroni salad, Fresh Strawberry and KiWi salad, Corn on the cob they tried to make me believe they picked in Wisconsin before they left. (Didn't believe them much) and a super jello salad. It was sooo good. Ken is probably hungry just thinking of those grilled Bratwurst....
It rained really hard during the night, but none got inside the Motor home. The patter on the roof really puts a guy to sleep....
Plan to go to the Zoo here in St. Louis today. It's supposed to clear up and be nice. It was about 60 here this morning, and supposed to go up to around 70,and no rain in the forcast.
Plan to spend one more day here and leave for parts West on the 16th.
Day before yesterday the Motorhome ran super, got 9.5 MPG at times, and averaged out the day with 8.1 MPG. However, yesterday the Motor started surging like it has done a couple times. I turned off the Cruise, no help, turned off the Over drive, no help,So I just floored it and got up to about 75 and it cleared up and never gave me any more trouble. Also, Had Donnie put on a new fan belt before we left as the old one was squeling. Well the new one is doing it to, so I fear there is something else wrong in there somewhere. Plan to crawl under there and see what I can find..
The campground here is almost in downtown St. Louis. It looks like it was an old parking lot they turned in to a campground. It's all paved, and not very level. Good thing I have good jacks to get it level. Stupid Satellite dish won't work again here. That thing sure has been a pain in the butt since we bought it. I do have the extra stand alone dish I can hook up. See a lot of the rigs have them out. Local Antenna TV isn't to bad, but I can't get my Fox News Channel.
Well, guess that's about it for day 4. Will let you all know how the Zoo went on the next update.

Day 2 Continued:
We made it to Adirsville, GA about 5:00 PM. We waited at the campground we were at last night till the storm passed thru above us. We had a little shower once or twice on the trip, and, the wind was sure bad. Blew the Motorhome all over the road. Hardly any RV'S out on the road today. We are all set up now at the campground here. It's an nice one. Even gave us a free bag of popcorn when we checked in. Wind is still pretty strong here. No awning out today.
Still having problems with the Motorhome. It messed with me again today. Driving along in cruise and notice the tach needle would jump up about 200 rpm, then drop back, then back up again. Could not make it stop no matter how I drove, in cruise, overdrive or whatever. Finally decided we better get a campground close to Macon where we were so we could get someone to look at it on Monday. Well, it cleared up and we drove the last 200 miles with no problems. Guess I need to wait till something breaks or something so we will know what to change or fix. Just hope it stays here in Georgia...
Will stop in Kentucky tomorrow for the night, then in to St. Louis and meet Bob and Dorene, and his sister who is coming for a visit there with us..

Day 2
Morning everyone: WE are still at the campground in Valdosta, Ga. There is a strong thunder storm to our North, so we are sitting here a while to wait for it to pass to the East. It has had several Tornado's, and we don't want to get involved with that storm. It's 0915 and we think we should be able to get on the road in about an hour. WE have had NO bad weather here yet, Just cloudy and breezy.
Bob called me last night. They are camped in West Virginia. I think Bob said he found the ONLY flat camping ground in the state. He also says the roads and hiways only go up there. No down hills there. I do remember that state, and I think he is right. Hope he don't have any storm stuff there. I think there is a storm front coming up on St. Louis too, hope that is not true.
Knee is doing fair. Good think I am not with Bob and Dorene as they walk with one leg shorter than the other due to the hills and mountains there.
I have developed a tooth ache. Haven't had one of those in years, and this one has been bothering me since I had my teeth cleaned a couple days before we left. Am taking some penicillan to hope it goes away soon..
Will let you all know how the day goes when we get settled in North Georgia.

DAY 1
We got away from the house about 0920 and got about 16 miles up the road and Amy asked me where the campground ID cards were. ?? I told her they were laying next to my computer on the desk back at the house. Soooo, back we went. Got them OK and got on the road again. Jerry next door happened to be out front when we got there, so everyone will know how dumb I am for leaving the cards there.
We got to Valdosta, GA about 2:30, and It took me about an hour to wash the Love Bugs off the windsheild and the front of the Motorhome. All is set, Had a beer, and Amy is cooking a prime rib dinner for tonight. It's a left over from day before yesterday. It'll still be good.
Not sure how far we will get tomorrow as there is supposed to be storms in our way tomorrow going North. Hope they sneak thru some time tonight. Seems like most of the storms are a little North of Us now. Hope they don't swing South.
Well, we are on the way, So Far So Good....

T- Minus 2
Here it is 8 May already. I finished my last day at therapy and they all say I am ready to go. WE plan to leave Floral City, Florida the Morning of 10 May early enough to get ahead of the Love Bugs we have here twice a year. For those of you that don't know what the Love Bugs are, you are lucky. They are two bugs hooked up flying around in the air about the hight of your windshield and your radiator. They also seem to be full of a messy substance that will even eat the paint off of your car. They don't come out till later in the morning, so I hope we can get far enough North where there are none. Not sure how far North they go...
Will be meeting Bob & Dorene Boardman in St. Louis on the 13 and we will do some vacation stuff around there for a few day before we start our trip to the North West to Montana where we plan to cross over in to Canada.
Hope to add to this Blog each day so you all can see what we are doing..
Hope all the folks at the Citrus Aqua therapy place are doing OK without me. they did a lot to help me get ready for this trip with my knee replacement. Still might have to cancel the Mountain Climbing on Mt. McKinley though.
