18 June 2008

Hi All: Had plenty of light to get up early with again. The sun set at 2446 and rose at 0300. Never did get dark all night???

We got on the road about 1000 and went to the "Ice Museum" here in Fairbanks. It was pretty neat, had a lot of ice carvings from some time back stored in 20 degree below zero. You can walk in among them, and you don't stay in there very long. An Ice carver carved something out of ice. We were not sure what it was. Kinda looked like a butterfly, but not sure. It was pretty.

Then we took off down the hi way and found a Farmers Market open so we stopped and walked around. Was more of a flea market I thought. Had a few veggies for sale. Organic tomatoes about the size of a tennis ball for $6.00 a pound. Didn't buy any, also had some cucumbers, Small for $1.00 a piece. Didn't get any of those either. Continued down the road to the Alaska University to go to the Alaska Museum. Spent about 4 hours in there. It was real good. Lots of walking and looking..

Got back to the Motor Home at about 1600 and decided we are going to the Turtle Club for dinner tonight. It's about 15 miles from here and is recommended by the old prospector we found in the office here. Bob and Dorene taking us to our anniversary dinner and have reservations for 1900. Hope it's not coat and tie??? hee hee...

Finally stopped raining, and it's in the 70's today. Real nice for a change. And supposed to be nicer tomorrow. Not going to do much tomorrow. Need to wash the car, and Amy plans to do some laundry.
