Hi All: Well, we made it to Homer. This is the end of our trip out. From now on it's our trip back home. Homer is full of people now as there is a Halibut tournement going on now. Read that the biggest so far is 319+ pounds. I don't think I'll even try to get on a trip for halibut this time. Will have to settle on my Salmon. It's a good fish...It is also very cold and windy here, and cloudy and raining some. I think the big water would be pretty rough and COLD, so this Florida boy will stay on land this time.
We drove out on the end of the place called the "Spit" There must be every car in Alaska out there, and a million RV's. WE got in a pretty good place for $45 a night. Had to give a $150 deposit for the TV control box for the TV here. First that has happened. Makes it a little tough to hook up as none of the rigs are wired to handle an extra TV box, so you have to unhook stuff and rehook the box in the middle. Worked out OK though. Good TV signal now, Beautiful view of the bay here and the Aleuition Mountain range on the other side of the water with all it's Ice and Snow. Beautiful. Can sure feel the wind coming off that ice.. Brrrrrrrrr..
Picture of the 1924 Model T Ford with the trailer is a couple that have driven up here from the lower 48, and drove all the way not Northern Alaska and now are heading back home. The car is open. Boy they should be showing everyone their "Stupid Sign"
Jan asked why no picture of Pharaoh. So I added one for her. Thanks for reading Jan. Super to hear from ya....
The other photo is a shot along the road down here. Hope it came out so you can see what it is. Just mountains, snow, ice and COLD
Can recognize Amy with some flowers at a winery we found here in homer. She had to take some close ups of all flowers.
I am standing in front of a Rhubarb plants. They are ready to pick, but the lady said I'd pull back a stub if I took any....So I didn't. They do make some wine out of it, and I bought some...
