Hi All: Made it to Cedar City, Utah at about 1430 today after a 280 mile drive. The country is still pretty desert type country with some crops being sprayed with water here and there. They are cutting the hay and oats now in places. Fairly flat, but do have some mountains to go over in places.
Woke up this morning and started the coffee and found the coffee maker bought the farm. Could not get it to work. Thank goodness Amy had her one cup coffee maker so she made several cups to get us on the road. We did find a WalMart here in Cedar City to get a new coffee maker. Now I have to mount it to the cabinet where the old one was. Of course the present mounting bracket will not work with the new coffee maker.
Have been having trouble with the motor surging since I left Florida. It would happen when I first start out, and then the Anti-Lock Brake System light would come on and the surging would stop. The light has been coming on since I changed the brake pads before we left. I paid them in Billings $190.00 to fix that, but the light came on before I got out of Billings. It has not been to troublesome, but it did seem to last longer in the surging the other day. Soooo. I removed the fuse from the ABS system and it ran just great today. Hope I don't need the ABS on the rest of the trip. Plan to take it to a Workhorse place in Brooksville when I get home...
We plan to turn off the Interstate system tomorrow and go down route 89 around the end of the Grand Canyon and then on to Flagstaff for the night tomorrow. Then the next night we have reservations at one of our 1000 Trails campgrounds in Camp Verde, AZ. Plan to stay there 3 nights to get rested up for our stay in Phoenix with Jack and Yoli. Jack has made arrangements to be off work while we are there. Plan to stay there about 5 days then head down I-10 towards Florida.
It's been a great trip.
