Hi All: We made it to the campground just North of Flagstaff. The trip down was beautiful. It's the same route we took with Jay and Lou but it seemed to be more beautiful. It's mostly desert and mountains. Lots of Mountains. Lots of ups and downs. I'm sure my gas mileage has suffered on this trip, but it was worth the extra to see that wonderful landscape. Saw the south end of the painted desert, and the south end of Zion National Park with it's super mountains, and saw the Colorado River where the Grand Canyon starts. We went from 8000 feet down to 3000 feet, and back to 6000 feet and down, then back up to 7200 feet here in Flagstaff. I feel like I did a Daytona 500. I never had to go to first gear though. The Motor home did a super job of drinking that gas...
It's kinda warm here but not like it will be in Phoenix. The weather person says it will be 110 to 112 in Phoenix this weekend. We will be doing a lot of inside stuff there. At least inside a car with the AC running. BUT, Jack says "It's a dry heat"... That should make a difference????
This park only had a hot spot at the office where I had to take the lap top to the office to use the Internet. They said there was a "RVWiFi that was available for $$ and that I can log on that and use the Internet from the Motorhome. I tried to log on their site and never could get it. I noticed another WiFi site and logged on to that and was able to get on the Internet, however, I was in the middle of this Blog and it closed down. I then tried the money site again and finally got logged on and signed up for a one day for $5.95 and got back on here and found that the blog had saved some of what I had written before they dumped me. So now I'm on fast WiFi here in the Motor home with Amy cooking something that sure smells good....
We leave in the morning for Camp Verde that is about 100 miles down I-17 towards Phoenix. We will stay there 3 days cleaning things up and Amy can use the Laundry. We need to use some of those 1000 Trails campgrounds that we are members of. We will never catch up to what we have paid for the membership costs. But every little stop helps. Seems most of the campgrounds are where we are NOT. Don't know if they have WiFi there or not. They should have, and have someone come to my Motor Home and log the Blog for me.. hee hee.
